Billie E. Wood

Billie E. Wood, age 79, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. 

Born on March 21, 1941, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Charles and Nettie Mae ‘Gross’ Wood. 

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Doris P. ‘Thornburg’ Wood, who passed April 18, 2019.  The two were united in marriage on January 13, 1962. 

Bill was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the United States Army.  He retired from both Mead Container and Dallas Container as a design engineer.  Bill was a handyman and always kept busy working around his home.   He loved to fish. 

Bill is survived by children: Kim (Don) Ison of Sabina, Lynette (Will) Houck of Thurman, Ohio, and Damon (Jennifer) Wood of Orcutt, California.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Donnie Ison, Matt Ison, Preslie Houck, Cameron Wood, Ashley Wood, Cassandra Hurley and Kamryn Vilanti; great grandchildren: Ruby and Dexter; along with several siblings: Charles Jr. (Juantia) Wood, Bob (Jean) Wood, Pat Simpson, Carolyn Sue Williams, and Linda (Roy) Hicks; along with a host of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his great grandson, Donnie Ison IV, and sister, Mary Walker.    

Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina from 12-1 pm, when funeral services will begin.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
