Daniel Lawson, III Obituary

Daniel Kelley Lawson, III, age 37, of New Vienna passed tragically in a house fire on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Born in Clinton County on August 25, 1984, he was the son of Sylvia Baker (Garret Arrowood) and Danny and Kathy ‘Kratzer’ Lawson.

Daniel was an East Clinton and Laurel Oaks graduate.  He was a Clinton County 4H and East Clinton FFA member, showing livestock his entire youth.  Daniel played baseball, football and ran track at East Clinton.  He enjoyed playing guitar in a band.

He went on to serve his country along side his Battle Brothers in the U.S. Army with the 1st Infantry “Big Red 1” and Alpha Company 601st in Ansbach, Germany and in Balad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  While in Germany, Daniel played semi-professional football.

Daniel leaves behind a large close family, life long friends, and brother warriors that loved him more than words can express.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Madiyson Lawson (his greatest gift in life); sister, Brandy Lawson Wiget; six cousins that are more like sisters: Blair Baker Faulkner, Hannah Baker Spurlock, Brittany Baker – one of his closest allies in life, Rebecca Baker, Bryanna Baker Williamson, and Dora Alisha Baker.  Also left to cherish his memory are: brothers in-law, Jason ‘Butch’ Wiget and Ernesto Cespedes; step-sisters, Chelsie Arrowood-Schultheis and Whitney Arrowood; step-brother, Brad Henderer; nieces and nephews: Morgan Wiget, Jason Alex Wiget, Emma Clair Cespedes, Jonas Wyatt Baker, Owen Thomas Baker and Leo James Spurlock; aunts, Goldie Baker Wright and Polly Lawson Standford; uncles: Herschel Baker, Logan Lawson, and Nolan Wright.

Daniel joins his grandparents in forever sleep: Jonas ‘Bert’ and Dora (Nichols) Baker and Dan and Martha (Waters) Lawson.
