Earl W. Vanscoy

Earl W. Vanscoy, age 79, of Lynchburg, passed on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Clinton Memorial Hospital. 

Born on August 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Dean Eugene and Ethel Mae (Moore) Vanscoy.

Early is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Rhoades Vanscoy. 

A Wilmington High School graduate, Earl worked as an inspector on the assembly line for Chrysler.  He was a former Pastor and taught Sunday School at Living Water Church.  Earl attended Carpenter’s House of Prayer in Hillsboro; he was educated in the Word and active in many church events and programs.  He raised cattle and enjoyed farming and gardening. 

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by children: Jeff (Linda) Vanscoy of Sabina, Todd (Jennifer Seward) Vanscoy of Martinsville, and Paula Johnson of New Vienna.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Jerimiah, Michael, Shannon, Ashley, Brittany, Adam, Ryan and Jerimiah, Joshua, Steven; great-grandchildren: Madison, Gracelin, Noel, Isabella, Mason, Michael, Gunner, Alyssa, Madeline, Myah, Trent, Lindsey, and Emma. 

The last of his family, Earl was preceded in death by siblings: Leroy, Alice, Ellen, Roxanne, and Johnnie. 

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Carpenter’s House of Prayer (7450 Fairground Rd Hillsboro, OH 45133). 

Friends may call at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 4-6pm.  A graveside service will take place at 11am on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Clinton Memory Gardens, Wilmington.
