Kelly Groves Obituary

Kelly Joe (Willoughby) Groves, age 48, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022, surrounded by family & friends at Clinton Memorial Hospital in hospice care.

She was born on June 9, 1974, in London, Ohio to the late James Willoughby & Teresa (Willoughby) Dearth.

Kelly attended Madison Plains High School. She obtained her GED at Southern State Community College. She then went on to college at Pickaway Ross Vocational where she obtained her degree in accounting. Kelly overcame a lot of personal struggles in her life and battled multiple health issues. Kelly was an avid die-hard Las Vegas Raiders and Ohio State University football fan. She was a member of the Silver and Black Association Ohio Chapter and a member at Agape Church on the Move in Washington Court House, Ohio. She loved to go swimming and fishing, having fun at Kings Island, Cedar Point, & Kelley's Island with her husband Bill & family. She also enjoyed collecting football cards of the Raiders and baseball cards. She loved attending Christian concerts & church. Kelly collected & read Stephen King novels and she enjoyed traveling. But most of all she loved spending all the time she could get with her children and grand-babies and her faithful companion fur baby, Ivy.

In addition to her father, Kelly is also preceded in death by Henry Groves,  her father-in-law; grandparents, Edward & Ruth Shook & Charles and Lois Willoughby; aunt, Karen Shook; best friends Veronica Dunn and Lori McDonald.

Kelly is survived by her husband of 19 years, Billy R. Groves, Sr.; her mother, Teresa (Willoughby) Dearth of Florida; seven children: Hayley Phillips (Randy Oty), Billy R. (Katie) Groves Jr., Kyley Elzy (Chris Parrish), Carley (Aaron) Perkins, Yuma Phillips, Matthew Groves (Kaitlyn Ooten), and Shawn Groves (Casey Boyle). Also left to cherish her memory are sisters: Angelia Willoughby (Brad Walters) and Samantha (Brittian) Sanders; brother, Adam Dearth; special aunt and uncle, who meant a lot to her, Lori and Kevin Bowsher. Kelly is also survived by brother in-law, Shawn (Thersea) Groves; sister in-law: Melissa (Bryan) Brown and Kristal (Kevin) Ling; mother in-law, Elizabeth Groves.

Kelly had 5 grandchildren, Isabella Groves, Hunter Groves, Syrus Phillips, Tobias Phillips, and Andrew Phillips; her God baby Wrenly Johns; special kids Faith Cleveland and Makayla Currneut; and special friends: Beverly Martin and Kathy Beatty along with several nieces and nephews who survive.

Kelly was a devoted wife and mother and a kind and gentle person who will be missed by all that knew her.

Services will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina at 5:00 P.M. Visitation will take place from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial, at Pleasant Cemetery, will be announced later.

Kelly had asked for everyone to be dressed in Raiders Attire or Silver and Black. Contributions may be made to the Littleton Funeral Home.
