Leslie A. Sturgill

Leslie A. Sturgill, age 90, of Bowersville, passed away at Quaker Heights Nursing Home, on Sunday morning, October 10, 2021.

Born May 29, 1931, in Logan, West Virginia, the son of Blackburn and Lula Dillon Sturgill.

Leslie attended schools in Kermit and Lanore, then joined the Navy and served during Korea.  He had been a park ranger in the Chestnut Ridge State Park and retired from Frigidaire.  Les was a member of the NRA and a sponsor of the Wounded Warrior Project.  

He is survived by his daughters: Delores Faulkner and Alyssa Sturgill; and daughter in-law, Joan Sturgill.

Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Dwain Faulkner, Lori (Rick) Barnhart, Brian (Deidra) Faulkner, Michelle (Brent Gibbs) Faulkner, Kelly Sturgill, Jason (Allison) Sturgill, Carl (Angela) Nicholson, and Ronda (Tim) McCrobie also Ellery (Ashley) Nicholson; along with several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; extended family members: Debbie and Sam McKee, Becky (Denise) Campbell, Mike (DeAnne) Campbell, and Kathy (Bill) Spicer, and their families; and siblings: Willard (Barbara) Sturgill, Faye Raikes, Larry (Linda) Sturgill, Reather Strugill; and several nieces and nephews.

Les is preceded in death by his sons: Rick Sturgill and Mike Sturgill; son in-law, Dale Faulkner; and siblings: Freeda Hensley, Janice Birmingham, Alvie Luther Sturgill, Archie Sturgill, and Bruce Sturgill.  And granddaughter, Joyce Bowen..

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 2pm, at the home of Delores Faulkner (5703 E. Xenia Street, Bowersville).  Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family, in West Virginia.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
