Lucia M. (Shaw) Ward of Calhoun, Ga. passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at her daughter's home in Sabina, Ohio surrounded by her family.

Lucia is survived by her daughter, Nina Spurgeon of Sabina, son David Ward and son-in-law Windell Bramblett both of Calhoun. Lucia was a wonderful grandmother and left her grandchildren with tons of memories.

She is also  survived by her grandchildren Barry (Lia) Bramblett, Mark Bramblett, Tammy (Phillip) Queen, Niki (Randy Rader) Smith and Josh Smith. Lucia was an avid adventurer in her younger years and loved to take her grand children just about anywhere she could drive her pickup truck. She was the most generous soul always willing to help those in need and was known to have canned food behind the seat of her truck just in case someone was in need.

She was a woman who knew what she wanted and how she was going to get it never taking no for an answer. She also knew that her way was always the right way and you didn't dare argue with her. She loved to read romance novels, watch HGTV, loved animals of all kinds and loved her sweets! Lucia was also known to have candy bars stashed EVERYWHERE  and at the ready to send home with her great grands after a visit.

Lucia had been determined to make it to her 95th Birthday and meet her new great great grandson and in true Grandma fashion she did just that!
