Phyllis L. Hobbs, age 79, of Wilmington, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, April 17, 2022.
Born in Sandgap, Kentucky on September 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Floyd and Gertrude Purkey Smith.
Phyllis was a graduate of Waynesville High School. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of God and she was an in home babysitter caring for many families through out her lifetime.
. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Luther ‘Luke’ Hobbs.
Also surviving are children: Lorraine (Mike) Early, Tonya (Philip) Dillon, Bridgette Hutton, and Jason (April) Stern; grandchildren: Aaron (Angie), Steven, Corrie (Adam), Kaliegh, Joey (Jamie Lynn), Krista (Josh) Bonnie, Luke (Jessica), Alleyea, Dylan, Justin, Emily and Aubrey; great-grandchildren: Trevor, Sara, Lydia, Isaiah, Laney, Hannah, Ephriam, Adysen, Brooklyn, Oliva and McKenzie; along with sister, Caroleen Riggs, and fur-baby Mickey.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven D. Conover, and sisters, Emma Jean Helton and Freda Lamb..
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Hospice of Fayette County.
A private graveside will be held at Miami Cemetery in Waynesville. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
