Shelly Boggs Obituary

Shelly Lee (Fox) Boggs passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at her home in Sabina, surrounded by her loving family.

Shelly was born to Jack and Janet (Wilhoit) Fox on February 13, 1963, at Miami Valley Hospital Dayton. She was a graduate of East Clinton High School and Wilmington College. Shelly spent her career doing what she enjoyed most, teaching Physical Education to the students of Hillsboro Elementary School until her health forced her to retire.

She married her high school sweetheart Chuck Boggs on December 23, 1983 and together they raised two beautiful children, Ashley and Adam.

In addition to teaching PE, Shelly loved to tend to her flower beds and especially enjoyed outdoor activities with her twin sister; her built-in-lifelong best friend, Kelly who always told her she was her “Favorite Person”. She also loved country music and attended concerts whenever possible.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Chuck Boggs of Sabina, her son, Adam (Becca) Boggs and granddaughter Tara Ashley Boggs of Hillsboro. Additionally, Shelly is survived by her mother, Janet (Wilhoit) Fox of New Vienna; her twin sister, Kelly Cooper of Hillsboro; brothers: Scott (Cathy) Fox of New Vienna, Steven (Brian) Fox of Batavia and Mike (Kathy) Fox of Oklahoma; her mother-in-law Mary (Mongold) Boggs of Sabina; brothers and sisters- law: Howie (Kris) Boggs of Chillicothe, Kristi (Virgil) Adkins of Jamestown, Bruce (Nancy) Boggs of Sabina, Dora Brady of Sabina and Micki (Mike) Sargent) Butler of Jamestown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Shelly was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley (Boggs) Fizer; her father, Jack Fox; father-in-law, Howard Boggs; brothers in-law: Chic York and Mike Cooper; and nephew, Dominick Brady.

The family will host a Celebration of Life,  at the Sabina Church of Christ on November 6, 2021 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m.
