Shirley J. (McClure) Evans

Shirley J. Evans, age 90, passed peacefully on December 25, 2020, at the Inn at Summit Trail, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl William 'Bill' Evans in 2007.  They were married December 5, 1951.  

Shirley was born on September 5, 1930, in Clinton County, to the late John and Helen Louise Brown McClure.  Shirley attended McClain High School in Greenfield, graduating in 1948.  She retired from First National Bank (later called National City Bank of Wilmington).  She was a member of the Lees Creek Church of Christ, Christian Women Fellowship, and Sabina Senior Citizens.  Shirley enjoyed her family, friend, and especially the outdoors and her animals.  She loved to walk in the fields and view the beauty of nature.  

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Linda Johnson, of Reynoldsburg; two grandsons: Christopher Johnson of Columbus and Scott (April) Johnson of Reynoldsburg; along with her precious great-granddaughter, Emerson Johnson.  

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Marcella Yankie, and brother, Waldo (Bud) McClure.  

The family will be endlessly grateful to those at The Inn at Summit Trail for being Shirley's family when Covid kept others away.  

A private service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.  Those attending will be asked to observe Covid safety recommendations.  Burial will be at Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek, following the service.  

Donations to your local hospice, county animal shelter, or Alzheimer's Association would be welcome.
