Wayne ‘Butch’ A. Strickle, age 77, of Jamestown, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
Born in Wilmington on May 26, 1944, the son of the late Wayne and Dorothea Carlisle Strickle.
Butch was a 1962 graduate of Greenview High School. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Butch was a semitruck driver for over 50 years, having worked for Home Run and retiring from Walmart. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Butch was happiest spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons: Jason, and his wife, Crystal, of Jamestown and Jake, and his wife, Lindsay, of Cedarville. Also left to cherish Butch’s memory are grandchildren: Faith, Rachel, Bailey, A.J., Natalie and Jett; sister, Jacque (Greg) Knisley; brother, Jerry (Sue) Strickle; and special friend, Lynn Favour.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to A Kid Again or Make A Wish.
Family will receive friends at the Jamestown Church of Christ on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 10am until 12pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Silver Creek I Cemetery, Jamestown.
