William E. ‘Bill’ Stewart, age 80, of Sabina, passed Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sabina on January 6, 1938, the son o Floyd and Ruth (Lancen) Stewart.
Bill was a Sabina High School graduate, who served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a foreman for NCR, was a supervisor at International Paper and later, operated a forklift at Pennant Molding. Bill was a member of the Sabina Church of Christ. He was a former Sabina Village Councilman, former Mayor of Sabina, Sabina Lions Club member and President of Community Action Council of Wilmington. Bill loved to fish and watch his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Morgan) Stewart. The two were married May 2, 1964.
Also left to cherish Bill’s memory are children: Barb (Ross) Apple of Xenia, and Billy (Jenny Beth) Stewart of Sabina; grandchildren: Justin (Lindsay Carter) Stewart, Stuart and Spencer Apple, and Gracee and Jessee Stewart; great-grandson, Corbin Stewart; sisters: Shirley Tagg, Sue Jackson, and Kay Stewart, all of Sabina; along with brother, Ron (Karen) Stewart of Englewood.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sabina Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, July 2, 2018, at the Sabina Church of Christ. Friends may call, at the church, on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 2-5pm. Burial will be at Sabina Cemetery.
